I actually did need a phone and fax number of a prominent advertising agency in one of the lesser known Southern Chinese Provinces once and found them on the net.

The reference section contains a large number of resources. It contains all the normal things that you'd find in a reference section in a libarary such as dictionaries, thesauri and encyclopedia , telephone directories, post codes, and street directories, including many worldwide resources.

However, there are also other whole Library catalogues that are available for browsing.

In addition, there are search engines which are sites for searching the internet.

Email is the web's postal system (usually faster), and there are other online services such as a calendar to make life easier.

Employment services have started using the web for job matching
