Head First into building a web site

You should produce a pretty decent effort the first time if you follow instructions and persevere. Hopefully you will also avoid most of the major traps.

This guide concentrates on free software, resources and on teaching you to learn how to do it yourself.

You can click on the red button on the left to navigate the site in order, or use the navigation to flit around. I recommend at least scanning through the whole guide before creating a site to avoid some of the worst website atrocities.

Note that I've gone for quick not comprehensive. So while I welcome suggestions, I want to emphasise the main features of good site design rather than create the 'war and peace' of websites.
