infoessentials.com is designed so that Australasian professionals get the most out of the internet.

Of course it is free for all to use.

The site is created by an Australian professional; Peter Lunn.

Updates to this site have been non-existent for a while, as life has taken over for a bit.

But we've recently changed to a more reliable server and are in the process of upgrading the site with a content management system (it will be easier to update and hopefully they will be more frequent).

This will be retained as an archive site, whist each page loaded onto the new system will be examined for broken links. The advertisements are at no charge to you but we can earn a small commission from them.

About this Site

    Aim
The aim of the site is:
  • to be a quick jumping off point
  • to free content
  • which has a professional research focus,
  • while providing useful and interesting general resources.

This site is designed to:

  • be fast loading (low on graphics),
  • have a logical layout and
  • be up to date.

Content

If a site is linked to this site, then the webmaster has decided that the site has good content and is worth visiting.

That's right. If the site is on here - we've looked at it and reviewed its usefulness.

We avoid old, useless, slow loading, low content sites.

If a link does not work, or an area or site is not covered that you would like to see, please contact us.

We also welcome any suggestions, comments and wishlists.

    Getting Around
This site has
  • most of the links in the centre of the page,
  • with a brief description of the aim of the page or type of resources below.

Navigate using either:

  • the main page (clicking on the top left infoessentials.com logo will take you back to the main page), or
  • the navigation icons (top right of each page), or
  • the related links at the bottom of each page, or
  • the drop down box at the foot of each page (select an area page and click on 'go').

For a more detailed look at how to get around the site, click here.

The Guerrilla Guide
The best way to get around (and become comfortable with the internet generally) is to:

  • point with your mouse and click (left button).
  • Keep going.
  • If you get into trouble use the back button (top left of your screen) which will take you back one level at a time.
  • The print button will print whatever page you are viewing at the time.

Internet Courses

For the most efficient and hassle free introduction to, or expansion of, skills in using the internet I would recommend a good course.

This is especially if you keep putting off learning internet skills.

Designcad run cost effective courses on using the internet and on a variety of software. They are a fast introduction to, or expansion of, computer skills. Click here for details.

If you wish to teach yourself using internet resources, then go to our Information Technology section.
